During drilling operation, the OBM drilling cuttings need to be collected and treated at the same time.  Because of the contamination to the soil, OBM cuttings cannot drop to ground. The OBM cuttings can be collected by screw conveyors, and further dried by vertical cutting dryer; more drilling fluids can be recovered and pump back to active tank system. We normally call it on-line treatment system to OBM cuttings.

For spent water-based mud, it normally will be drop into the mud pit for storage. The Chinese government began to require contractors to deal with spent WBM several years ago. With the emergence of more environmental problems, more countries in the World put regulations in the treatment of spent WBM.

Based on our former experience in China domestic market, we had a deep communication with the customer. And finally, we reach technical agreement on the flocculation and filter press system. The basic working principal is to coagulate the ultra-fine solids and separate by filter cloth, press to mud cake. Before order, we showed the work site pictures, videos and customer feedback of domestic project.

The ordered main equipment including below items:

• Submersible slurry pump, used to transfer the spent WBM from mud pit to our system

• Dosing and mixing tank system, used for flocculation and mixing

• PAC dosing unit with PAC doing pump

• PAM dosing unit with PAM dosing pump

• Cleaning water collection tank, used to collect the water discharge from filter press; also working to supply water to the dosing tank system

• Plate and frame filter press, to final treatment the spent WBM after coagulation and flocculation
