role in the mud cleaning and recycling. One oil drilling well can consume

the reuse rate of valuable drilling fluids and reduce the cost in drilling
fluids.
Traditional mentioned 4 stage solids control equipment concluding shale shaker, desander cyclones, desilter cyclones, decanter centrifuge. Each stage will remove some cuttings in a certain particle size and the drilling mud will be cleaned step by step.
The shaker will remove the biggest particles from the drilling fluids by shaker screen. And the shaker screen API size is usually adopt API 60 to API 120. According to the drilling process, the mud engineer will advise the suitable screen size for shale shaker.
The desander cyclones and desilter cyclones are usually mounted on the shaker deck to form a mud cleaner or mud conditioner, it is 3 in 1 unit with compact footprint. The cyclones need to be feed by centrifugal pumps 45kw or 55kw, and the high pressure of feeding can form the Swirling flow in the cyclones which the bigger solids particles will be separated from the drilling fluids.
The centrifuge usually has middle speed and
high speed, the middle speed centrifuge will play the role to recover barite
for reuse. (Barite is the material to get weighted mud), and the high-speed centrifuge
work to cut mud weight to adjust the mud weight to fit for the drilling
requirement.
