The common equipment to treat the oily
sludge can be 3 types:
Type A: dosing unit, decanter centrifuge and disc separator
Type B: dosing unit, 3 phase centrifuge
Type C: dosing unit, filter press and disc separator

Chemical pretreatment is important job to achieve good separation. In dealing with spent water-based mud, the chemical is used to coagulation, to form semisolid lumps in a WBM. After that, the solids can be separated by centrifuge or Filter Press easily. However, it is very different in the process of oily sludge. The chemical applied to treat the oily sludge is emulsion breaking. Without emulsion breaking, no matter centrifuge or Filter Press, they all will fail to get good performance. We not only grasp the technology of equipment, also we grasp the chemicals required to treat the oily sludge. However, most of other competitors in China, they only know how to layout machines.
To support our partner in Africa, we just delivered one set of oily sludge separation system with Filter Press. This is a trial project and we can offer the commissioning support at jobsite of our partner. To best support our partner, we also provide our patent chemicals. The working performance can be tested by last quarter of this year.
Compared with decanter centrifuge proposal, we recommend Filter Press proposal to deal with oily sludge. The Filter Press advantages: bigger treating capacity than centrifuges at the similar cost, simple operation, low speed operation without any risk, very low power consumption compared with centrifuge, very easy to replace the spare parts (like filter cloths); the footprint will be larger than centrifuge layout.
