Visualizing Efficiency: From Raw Material to Isolate

The extraction of plant protein is a multi-stage process requiring precise separation at varying pH levels and temperatures. KES decanters and High Speed Decanters are deployed sequentially to separate fibers, fractionate starch, and isolate protein curd.

Process Breakdown

Extraction

The flour/flakes are mixed with water. KES Decanters separate the fiber and starch solids from the protein-rich liquid phase.

Coagulation

Acid is added to the liquid to precipitate the protein. KES High Speed Decanters (specialized for soft solids) separate the protein curd from the whey.

Washing

To reach high protein purity (isolates), the curd is washed and separated again to remove anti-nutritional factors and salts.

Dewatering

The final protein fraction is dewatered to reduce the thermal load on the spray dryer.
