KES Separation High G Dryer Working at Africa for WBM Waste Treatment

Customer Feedback Confirms Satisfactory Performance in Field Operation

KES Separation has received positive feedback from a Nigeria customer using the High G Dryer for water-based mud (WBM) waste treatment at drilling site. According to the customer, the treatment results have been very satisfactory. The customer also shared on-site photos and video showing the equipment in operation.

The video captures the High G Dryer working at the jobsite. It provides a direct view of the shaker handling drilling waste under actual operating conditions.

Drilling operations generate large volumes of cuttings mixed with drilling fluid. These cuttings may carry considerable amounts of liquid when discharged from the primary shale shaker. If the liquid is not recovered effectively, the site may lose reusable drilling fluid and face higher waste transportation and treatment costs.

The KES Separation High G Dryer provides an additional separation stage after the primary shale shaker. It helps recover liquid from wet solids and prepares the discharged cuttings for subsequent handling or treatment.

Designed for Practical Site Operation

A drilling site needs equipment that can handle changing operating conditions. Feed composition may vary during drilling. The amount of liquid carried by the cuttings may also change.

The KES High G Dryer offers several practical design features.

Adjustable deck angle

The screen deck angle can be adjusted from -2° to +5°. Mechanical adjustment allows operators to change the deck angle while the machine is running. This provides flexibility when operating conditions change.

High-G vibration

The machine uses two vibration motors, each rated at 1.94 kW. Its adjustable G-force reaches up to 8.0 G. This vibration system supports the separation of liquid from wet solids.

Four-screen configuration

The KSZS114-MD is equipped with four screen panels. Each panel measures 585 × 1165 mm. The total screen area is 2.73 m². The pretension screen design supports faster screen replacement during maintenance.

Heavy-duty construction

The machine features a stainless-steel bottom deck. Heat treatment is applied to the complete shaker deck for high-G operation. These design features support durability in demanding working environments.

Linear motion is the standard configuration for this model. Balanced elliptical motion and dual motion are also available across the KES shaker product range, depending on the selected configuration.

The complete dry shaker system is equipped with screw conveyor assemblies, which form an integrated workflow for enclosed cuttings transfer and continuous dewatering. From the on-site video and photos shared by the client, wet drill cuttings are evenly distributed across the shaker deck. Driven by vibration exciters, solid-liquid separation takes place efficiently. The separated liquid phase flows back into the active mud circulation system for reuse, while dewatered cuttings with low residual liquid are discharged from the deck and conveyed steadily by the matched screw conveyor for collection. The whole working cycle runs in an enclosed manner, which effectively prevents mud splashing and odor dispersion on the rig floor and greatly improves the working environment for field crews.

How the High G Dryer Fits into a Complete Waste Treatment System

A High G Dryer is one part of a broader solids control and drilling waste management process. KES Separation supplies several types of equipment that can work together, depending on the project requirements.

Shale Shaker

The shale shaker is normally the first stage of solids separation. It removes larger cuttings from the circulating drilling fluid before the fluid returns to the mud system. The High G Dryer can then provide additional treatment for the discharged cuttings.

Vertical Cuttings Dryer

The vertical cuttings dryer uses a rotating rotor and screen basket to separate liquid from drilling cuttings. It is widely used for oil-based mud (OBM) and non-aqueous drilling waste applications where base oil recovery and cuttings dryness are important.

Unlike a vibrating High G Dryer, a vertical cuttings dryer relies on centrifugal force. The two machines have different operating principles and should be selected according to the application.

Decanter Centrifuge

A decanter centrifuge separates fine suspended solids from liquid through centrifugal sedimentation. It can be used in drilling fluid processing, slurry treatment and selected waste management applications. The appropriate configuration depends on the feed properties and separation target.

Screw Conveyor

A screw conveyor transfers cuttings and other solids between equipment or toward a collection point. It helps maintain a continuous material flow and reduces the need for manual handling.

Thermal Desorption Unit (TDU)

For suitable oily drilling waste, a TDU uses controlled heating to separate oil and water from the solid material. It can form part of a downstream waste treatment system after suitable collection and preparation. The process configuration depends on waste composition, environmental requirements and the selected treatment route.

Not every project requires all these machines. KES Separation can help customers select the equipment combination based on the waste type, processing capacity, site layout and required treatment results.

Positive Feedback from Actual Site Operation

The customer’s feedback confirms that the High G Dryer is performing satisfactorily in the reported WBM waste treatment application.

For KES Separation, field feedback is an important part of equipment development and customer support. Site photos and videos help us understand how the equipment operates under real working conditions. They also provide useful information for future equipment selection and service planning.

Drilling waste varies from one project to another. Mud properties, cuttings size, feed rate and site operating conditions all influence separation performance. A suitable equipment configuration and proper operation are therefore essential.

KES Separation continues to provide practical equipment for solids control, drilling fluid processing and drilling waste management. Our product range includes shale shakers, High G Dryers, vertical cuttings dryers, decanter centrifuges, screw conveyors and thermal desorption systems.

We appreciate our customer’s trust and positive feedback. We will continue to support drilling contractors and waste management service providers with reliable equipment and practical technical assistance.
