The technology relies on high-performance drilling slurry to cool the drill bit, lubricate the drill string, stabilize the borehole wall, and carry cuttings to the surface, making it ideal for complex urban or sensitive environmental areas.
 
Solids control equipment plays a critical role in HDD operations. It purifies the returned slurry by separating rock cuttings, sand, and other solid particles through a multi-stage process (shale shaker, desander, desilter, and centrifuge). Purified slurry can be recycled, significantly reducing slurry procurement costs and waste discharge.
